Osun people don talk with their PVC, and the result don settle the matter.
For the August 15, 2026 governorship election, Governor Ademola Adeleke emerge winner after polling 511,067 votes, beating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, wey score 444,815 votes.
ADC candidate Najeem Salaam come third with 17,180 votes.
But make we break the matter down small, because election result no be just numbers on paper.
Adeleke win 19 out of the 30 Local Government Areas in Osun State, while Oyebamiji carry 11 LGAs.
For white man language, Adeleke win more places — and na those votes help am remain governor.
Imagine say election be football match. You fit dominate some parts of the pitch, but na the goals wey enter net go determine who carry the trophy. For this case, Adeleke score enough political "goals" to remain inside Bola Ige House.
The election attract 15 political parties, meaning voters get plenty options to choose from.
Campaigns don happen. Rallies don happen. Promises don plenty. Politicians don talk tire.
But when election day reach, na voters get the final microphone.
You fit campaign from morning till night. You fit put billboard for everywhere. You fit shout for rally until your voice sound like generator wey don work for 12 hours.
But once voter enter polling booth, na that small ballot paper get the real power.
And Osun voters don use their own power.
Adeleke collect 511,067 votes.
Oyebamiji collect 444,815 votes.
The difference? 66,252 votes.
That margin help Adeleke secure another term.
President Bola Tinubu also congratulate Adeleke on the victory, describing the result as a reflection of the will of the people of Osun State.
Now, election don finish.
The campaign posters go soon start fade.
The political arguments for WhatsApp groups go reduce small.
People wey dey calculate results with calculator fit finally rest.
But Adeleke no get time to rest too much.
Because winning election na one exam.
Governing the people na another exam.
Osun people don give am another opportunity.
Now na him turn to show wetin he fit do with am.
The votes don speak. Now, governance must answer.
