Nigeria is already dealing with fuel prices, food prices and 2027 politics… now FBI files have entered the group chat.
Former Army Chief Tukur Buratai is reportedly urging the United States not to release documents allegedly connected to old drug-trafficking investigations involving President Bola Tinubu, warning that doing so could embarrass Nigeria and interfere with the country’s politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to Buratai, this matter is not just about Tinubu — it is about Nigeria’s image, sovereignty and the dignity of over 250 million Nigerians.
But Nigerians are already asking the obvious question:
“If the file is harmless, why everybody dey panic?”
Buratai says allegations should be properly investigated, but Nigeria’s institutions should be allowed to handle the matter without foreign interference.
Meanwhile, Nigerians online:
“FBI, abeg just release the file. Let everybody rest.”
One thing is certain: 2027 campaign season has not even fully started, and the drama has already entered Season 1, Episode 99.
